๐จ๐ฌ Viva Survivor: The Molarity Matrix
The external examiner is here, and he expects you to know your lab math instantly! Keep your cool and answer the solution preparation questions before your stress meter overloads.
-
⚖️ Molarity (M): Grams = Molarity × Volume (Liters) × Molecular Weight.
(e.g., 1M of 58.5 MW in 1L = 58.5g. So 0.5M in 1L = 29.25g!) -
๐งช Dilutions: Use C1 × V1 = C2 × V2.
(e.g., Diluting 10X buffer to 1X in 100mL? You need 10mL of 10X!) - ๐ Percent Solutions (w/v): 1% means 1 gram in 100 mL.
- ๐จ EXAM TRAP WARNING: The examiner will test safety and sterility! NEVER add water to concentrated acid (always Add Acid to Water). NEVER autoclave thermolabile vitamins (Filter Sterilize them)!
